Feel your Fascia

Next in the Soma Strata Sunday Workshop Series: Feel Your Fascia, taking place August 16th, 10-13:00.This workshop will explore fascia as movement resource - including time to look at images, hear from the worlds of science and dissection and tune in to that information in our experience, digesting and metabolising to make somatic sense for ease in movement.Fascia is the fabric of my practice as a Rolfing Structural Integration practitioner; it is also the fabric of our human structure, interpenetrating and connecting every single aspect of our bodies.

We will learn that fascia is the most densely innervated organ and how it transmits different kinds of touch. Working with bands, balls, walls and floors - and occasionally each other - will give us insight into how we experience touch. The fascial body is a paradigm shift in our understanding of our anatomy, our relational intelligence and how movement is one of our most important resources. No movement experience or training necessary to access these ideas!Mats and warm drinks provided; please bring layers you feel comfortable to move in and any writing/drawing materials you enjoy using.
